"For my latest projects I used a lot of single cell lipo batteries. They are really nice. High power density, low self-discharge, no memory effect and they can deliver quite an amount of current.
But lipo battery handling is a bit more complicated as with other rechargeable batteries. You have to take care of under voltage and over charging as that may destroy the battery.

Gracias Nepro, es muy interesante tu aportación, mi intención es emplear este tipo de baterías en mi próximo ampli portátil, de momento para cargar las baterías tengo en mente el LTC1731ES8-8.4#PBF (http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/79556.pdf) combinado con un sistema de protección de descarga individual para cada LiPo, aunque resultan muy interesantes los integrados que emplean en estos cargadores, cuando tenga tiempo (que ahora mismo voy muy mal de eso oo)) investigaré estos integrados, por suerte se pueden conseguir fácilmente pues el MAX1555 lo tiene Farnell (http://es.farnell.com/maxim-integrated-products/max1555ezk-t/usb-ac-adapter-1-cell-li-sot23/dp/1628222?Ntt=max1555) y el MCP73833 lo tiene RS, en este caso hay una "evaluation board" (http://es.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=searchProducts&searchTerm=mcp73833&x=0&y=0), por este precio me compro una en el próximo experimento pues me ahorra mucho trabajo. Según pueda probarlo os cuento como va.
