En espera de las nueva normativa europea sobre el standby, Toshiba ha desarrollado un "complejo"        sistema ,Eco Chip ,basado en un condensador y un réle: 

"... the company is using a system called Eco Chip, made of a capacitor and a mechanical relay between the AC power supply and the power supply board inside the device.

When the device is in standby mode, the current is switched off completely and the capacitor provides just the power needed to leave the standby mode. When the charge in the capacitor gets too low, the mechanical relay puts the power back to charge it, which consumes 0.13W during 5 minutes, which is almost nothing."
