Los 100 mejores discos de Jazz según Jazz 100 (enlazados a Spotify)

Si le hemos dedicado un espacio a una lista con los mejores álbumes del pop y el rock, no puedo dejar de publicar también alguna lista con los mejores álbumes del Jazz, aunque esta selección se me antoja aún más personal y complicada.

No obstante, si consultamos la infinidad de listas que hay confeccionadas, hay un cierto criterio homogéneo en cuáles son los mejores discos del Jazz, aunque dependiendo del editor de la misma, nos encontraremos con una mayor o menor tendencia hacia el extremo más free y avantgarde, o hacia épocas más tempranas y tranquilas.

Esta selección está realizada por http://jazz100.sffjazz.com y creo que puede reflejar bien la opinión general, aunque si yo tuviera que hacer una selección personal nunca elegiría estos 100 y la década de los 50 y el Hard Bop tendría mucho más peso, pues es lo que más me gusta.

Es una lista bastante buena, no la conocía. Coincido con Joserra, mi lista tendría algo menos de "fusion" y algo más de hard-bop, bebop y swing. Pero bueno, para gustos colores, seguro que las listas de otros tendrían más free, o más cool. A ver cuáles son los siguientes 50

me mola ver que tengo ya bastantes bastantes de estos discos, y eso que hace unos años no tenía ni uno, ni siquiera escuchaba apenas jazz....

De la lista, mis preferidos diría que el Bitches Brew y el concierto de Kohln de Keith Jarrett (aunque últimamente ando echándole la oreja a los de Munich, también muy buenos)...eso desde mi ignorancia jazzística claro.

Ya tenéis los siguientes cincuenta disponibles. Seguro que más de uno de los que esperábais ver en los primeros cincuenta los encontráis en el segundo grupo, aunque también es posible que no sea así.

De cualquier manera, me parece una buena lista que valora no sólo la calidad musical sino el impacto que determinado trabajo ha tenido para el género. Sólo así entiendo la inclusión del Live In Paris de Diana Krall, que me parece una buena producción, un producto perfectamente vendido y que llegó a muchísima gente y revitalizó a principios de los 2000 el Jazz Vocal, pero que musicalmente se me queda un poco corto con respecto a otros como para estar entre los 100 primeros.

La segunda tanda también es espectacular. La lista es realmente buena. Uno podría cambiar puntualmente alguno que le guste menos por otro más de su agrado, pero difícilmente puede decirse que ninguno de los álbumes que figuran no merezca estar incluido. De Diana Krall no sé si habría escogido precisamente ése, pero que figure en la lista está justificado, por mucho que ella no creo que merezca estar en una lista de los 100 mejores de la historia del jazz.

Gracias chicos, había tenido un problema con la fórmula de Excel que me construye el post para los álbumes que no tienen su enlace a Spotify - una lástima que no esté ese pedazo de concierto de Jarrett en Colonia - pero ya está corregido.

Por cierto, comentar que esta lista en Jazz 100 llega hasta 2002, y Peter Syke, - el editor - tiene confeccionada otra de otros 100 discos de lo que él llama "savia nueva", con álbumes de entre 2004 y 2013, y que estoy ahora mismo recopilando para compartir también con vosotros.

Entiendo que se separen, ya que para ser considerados los mejores álbumes de la historia del Jazz necesitan tener un período de maduración para ser reconocidos como tales, o para comprobar si realmente han sido decisivos en el devenir del género.

Lo comentaremos en un nuevo hilo, pero desde luego en los últimos años hay mucha vanguardia, propuestas que quedan un poco alejadas en general de mi gusto pero que me apetece escuchar,  pues siempre se aprende algo... aunque sea a reconocer qué es lo que no te gusta definitivamente.

También son interesantes las nuevas propuestas. Algunas porque respetan y siguen la tradición labrada durante más de medio siglo. Otras porque consiguen romper "las normas" (aunque tal vez sería más correcto decir "tradición") sin resultar disonantes. Ese equilibrio es el que encuentro más complicado de lograr.
